Winter 2025/6
Our Winter Story

A winter like the one we just came through leaves its own kind of story on a place, and Stone Rose Farm carries those chapters with quiet pride. The snow came early and often, piling high against the fences and softening every edge of the fields. The cold settled in deep, the kind that makes the air feel still and crystalline. Yet through it all, the heartbeat of the farm never faltered.
Weston and Rowan met the season the way they meet everything—steady, curious, and full of heart. On the harshest storm nights they stayed tucked safely in their stalls, listening to the wind rattle the barn roof. But most days, even with the cold biting at their whiskers, they chose the open pasture. They moved through the drifts like old souls who understood winter’s rhythm, keeping warm with extra hay and the comfort of each other’s company. Weston, especially, seemed to gaze toward the trails as if already dreaming of spring rides and the soft earth beneath his hooves.
The barn cats, on the other hand, had no such romantic notions about winter. Despite their heated blankets and cozy corners in the barn, they made their opinions known by spending most of the season indoors, curled up in the warmest spots they could find. Rocky and Finn were equally unimpressed—venturing outside only when absolutely necessary, then trotting back in with looks that said, surely this will be over soon?
It was a tough, snowy winter—one that asked a lot of every creature here. But the beauty of Stone Rose Farm is that resilience lives in every stall, every pawprint, every breath of warm hay-scented air. And now, as the days stretch a little longer and the promise of green returns to the edges of the fields, all the critters are well, content, and ready for the gentler seasons ahead.
